              New Content Item

Globally, there are an estimated 38 million people who have and live with HIV. For over 30 years now, the 1st of December has been celebrated as World AIDS Day to show support for them, stand with those who lost their lives to it and highlight research towards combating this global epidemic.

This year to commemorate this day, the BMC Series Journals dedicate their December focus issue to research on HIV and AIDS highlighting recent advancements in understanding the biology of the disease, the continued breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment and also shed some light on what life with HIV is like.
